Full Speed Ahead…
An Astrological Preview of 2011
I’ve been a professional astrologer since 1971 and I have never seen a year like 2011. Hold on to your
seats, we are in for quite a ride. The opportunities this year are the most exciting I can imagine. Our
challenge is keeping up to the speed of the Universe. So I’ve named this year…Full Speed Ahead.
My preview of 2011 must start with an overview of last year and the notorious Cardinal Cross. To
refresh everyone, the Cardinal signs are Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn. Those signs are the initiators
of the Zodiac. They also mark the beginning of each of the 4 seasons of the year. So I think they are the
most powerful points on the circle in the sky around the earth called the Zodiac. They form a perfect
square or a cross in the sky, therefore, the Cardinal Cross. So why are these points important now?
Because they have slow-moving, important planets at those points last year and still now. Pluto, who
has a 248 year orbit, is in early Capricorn. The Moon’s Nodes are there too, giving it an even deeper
karmic meaning. But the kicker to this Cross is the transit of the planets Jupiter and Uranus entering
Aries, which is happening very soon. We are all on the verge of one of the biggest changes in humanity.
This is, of course, a precursor to 2012, but that’s for a later time.
The adventurous planet Jupiter enters the bold sign of Aries on January 22. This reminds me of a race
horse at the gate, chomping at the bit to get going. The gate opens on that date and each of us are
free to run fast. But the interesting thing is that Jupiter really races through the sign of Aries. Since
Jupiter has a 12 year orbit, it usually spends approximately 1 year in a sign. Jupiter leaves Aries on June
5th, which is only 4 ½ months in Aries. So it’s condensed success. If Jupiter likes to do things big, this is
the time to think huge and be bold. To add to this speedy energy is the wild planet Uranus, the Rebel.
So, throw a rebel in the sign of bold and brave and we have a strong rebel. Uranus represents change,
Jupiter is about success and Aries gives them both speed. That’s why I named the year Full Speed
Ahead. Uranus is involved with the internet, so new businesses online have a great shot at success. Be
bold, brave and a bit fearless with all this driven, exciting energy. I think the worst thing to do is to do
nothing. You will get left in the dust by all the fast horses rushing by you. Go for it!!
